jonny white & james teej - narco balada ep

Jonny White & James Teej

Narco balada

Sustaining a standard of quality underground music, Perspectiv has again hand picked fresh talent for their next release. Canadian pair, White and Teej, a partnership in its ascendency, aspire for a stripped back sound of ‘minimal soul’.

Narco Balada initiates the listener into a robotic hazy stupour. This sonic state of narcosis is perfect for the end of the night and ideal for the bleary eyed shuffler focusing on the beat and gravitational orientation. This track maintains interaction through haunting chords. It creeps up on you.

At just over eleven minutes, Narco Balada casts a deadly spell of inertia that transports the listener to the endless depths of club. A sedative for the soul. Worth an extended listen.

Narcobalada (Chaton's bass traxx remix)

Stef Chaton, is the owner of Geneva based Plak Records. Hot off the fire is Chaton’s adaptation of Narco balada with his bass track remix. Exploring the future by toying around with past, Chaton really takes the less is more approach. His vibe is totally nude and sexy like a Sunday morning.

From the get-go retro warp bleep sounds surface shaping a minimal stripped back D.I.Y aesthetic reminiscent of early Trax, UR and Plus 8. The hypnotic pulse conjures party nostalgia and a nod to Canadian dance music/history.

The bass track remix has a sharp energy and sinister chords with strong bass and kick drums. A vocal dialogue develops adding flavour and a twisted message to the composition. Prepare to strip down to this first rate reduction and production. Vintage vibe and totally now.
